Nor did he mention Long Covid, nor the 9,000+ Americans who died from covid in January 2024 alone.

I could cry, thank you for thinking of the medically vulnerable, the largest marginalized group in America.

It’s unfortunate we don’t matter at all to the president.

I am you, you are me. And we are ignored and told it's okay if we "fall by the wayside." I'll never forgive Biden for creating policy that disabled and abandoned tens of millions of Americans and that number continues to grow. Sure wish Ken would cover it.

Biden knows, or at least his handlers know, that the "temporary pier" will never get past the planning stage. Either the election will happen or the genocide will be a fait acoompli, rendering the whole thing moot.

Team R will still scream something about "abandoning Israel". Team D will insist that "American jobs" depend on WWIII.

It's just so ridiculous propose building a stupid fucking pier when all he needs to do is tell them to fucking let the goddamn trucks through. All that shit is a waste of time and resources that are needed yesterday.

The entire thing is what is referred to as a "moral figleaf". Biden is trying to have it both ways, while fooling nobody other than those who than those who wish to be fooled.

I was assuming the 'pier' is to be a gas platform for when they start stealing gas from the area. But yes, in the short term, it is pure genocide distraction theatre.

For a second I thought you meant to fuel the trucks and I was like, do they need that? But them I realized what you meant, oil for US and I'm sure NO ONE would mind that at all, and you know they'll probably try but they still won't manage to gas up those aid trucks.

nothing he has to say I want to hear with the exception: I will not seek a second term.

I'll want to hear what Walt and Matt have to say as well as Useful idiots. And of course my man in the great city of Chicago Paut Street.

But good summary Ken, it was the best one I've read. I've spent all day avoiding listening to the void where our functioning moral compass as a nation should be.

This is why writing should still be taught in journalism schools: “When assessing State of the Union speeches, what isn’t said can be just as interesting as what is.” How many articles have started this way? The over/under is 10,0000.

Well, of course he didn't. It is likely to go over most people's heads. What I notice most, while listening to Washington Journal daily, is that it seems the first thing people read - whenever/whatever it was - is about as much room as their poor pea brains can process.

So, even though some of us are interested in the critical actions you mentioned, most people are not.

Alas, the Empire and Capitalism continue to reign. Mores the pity, too.

Thank you for bringing us what is important.
