Surprise, surprise, they learned nothing from Thompson’s murder.

“We ultimately pay 98% of all claims that are for eligible members, when submitted in a timely manner with complete, non-duplicate information.”

Only after many of them appeal a denial. Which most people haven’t the time or energy to do.

Or in a “timely” manner.

Or without any errors.

In other words, that’s 98% of a much smaller subtotal.

And UHC is frankly hoping you will die before that second or third resubmitted claim winds its way through their “system”.

My dad was on UHC’s Medicare Advantage Plus plan. It’s been 5 months since he died & we’re still fighting to get his plan cancelled & receive reimbursement for the months they “assured” us the it was cancelled…and it wasn’t.

UHC’s leadership is unethical. Believe what you read about them.

The most (supposedly) richest Nation on Earth cannot provide decent healthcare?

It blows my mind it really does because how many people have to die before you get off your HUGE arses and do something. It is up to YOU people now.

Having lived in the US and gone through bankruptcy, to keep our daughter alive, I say move to China or maybe some places in Europe.

Thank the stars for us getting out 23yrs ago.

Maybe hold back your holier than thou statements? You left the US so have no idea what’s being done here. The solutions are complicated and there is no country in the world that wants 300 million Americans to just “move there” as a solution.

I know exactly what is going on in the USA and Europe.

There is a ton of stuff to unpack here. Not only in this post but with US healthcare in general. The picture at the top of this post, showing the UHC Minneapolis campus with flags at half staff, shows the hubris and out right arrogance of the industry and UHC specifically.

I'm not a mindless flag waving patriot but I was taught the US flag, the one we pledge allegiance to, is to be flown at half staff only under very specific and sanctioned commemorations of tragic events.

USC title 4 states in part:

" . . . the flag shall be flown at half-staff upon the death of principal figures of the United States Government and the Governor of a State, territory, or possession, as a mark of respect to their memory. In the event of the death of other officials or foreign dignitaries, the flag is to be displayed at half-staff according to Presidential instructions or orders, or in accordance with recognized customs or practices not inconsistent with law. In the event of the death of a present or former official of the government of any State, territory, or possession of the United States, the death of a member of the Armed Forces from any State, territory, or possession who dies while serving on active duty, or the death of a first responder working in any State, territory, or possession who dies while serving in the line of duty, the Governor of that State, territory, or possession may proclaim that the National flag shall be flown at half-staff, and the same authority is provided to the Mayor of the District of Columbia with respect to present or former officials of the District of Columbia, members of the Armed Forces from the District of Columbia, and first responders working in the District of Columbia. When the Governor of a State, territory, or possession, or the Mayor of the District of Columbia, issues a proclamation under the preceding sentence that the National flag be flown at half-staff in that State, territory, or possession or in the District of Columbia because of the death of a member of the Armed Forces, the National flag flown at any Federal installation or facility in the area covered by that proclamation shall be flown at half-staff consistent with that proclamation.".

Mr. Thompson's murder should in no way be condoned or applauded nor should he be martyred. So I fail to see how his death warrants having the national flag dipped in his honor. An honor that should be reserved for those who selflessly gave their lives in service for others not for the profit of a cooperation. Personally I find this display distasteful.

I'm sure he believes this bullshit. This is how the consent get manufactured - the people who actually believe this crap are the ones who get promoted, and do the hiring.

Have any seen claims published regarding the last (assassinated) United Healthcare CEO having been scheduled to testify in relation to insider trading, possibly involving certain politicians? I saw this mentioned in passing several weeks back and now can't find where.
