This is a really helpful reporting. Did anyone explain why, in addition to these experimental and obviously lucrative systems that they are supposedly deploying, no kinetic back-ups were deployed? The military has had machine gun/armor personnel carrier light cannon based systems to shoot down these kinds of threats for decades and they are a mature technology that only requires a good sensor system to detect the drone to work. Is there some reason those cannot be used as an extra layer of defense the way the navy uses their version (called a close in weapon system or CIWS) for drones that get past everything else?

As I said in that comment, Ken, I think Iran has probably reverse-engineered against some of our defenses. You're going to have to dig to get even an "on background" comment about that from someone in a position to know.

I cannot vote for more of this, and I don’t vote Republican because I’m a woman who believes I am a whole entire human being who should have control over my reproductive system and racism disgusts me.
