An entire cottage industry would have folded if Trump had lost, which cracks me up. MSNBC hosts, the Justice is Coming gang and the grifting influencers would have nothing to talk about. I will never forget this statement from Stephanie Ruhle on Jan 21st, 2021, though: “We will never have to talk about Donald Trump again.”
I left CNN, MSNBC, etc a long time ago when I realized they're high-paid presenters, not journalists. 'Kissing the Ring' or 'Kissing the Ass' shows they're commentators and propagandists, not journalists. When my essays are attacked, I respond that I can tell they get their news from CNN, MSNBC, etc...propaganda...not journalism.
You are right to point out the ridiculous characterizations many commentators residing on the cable TV airwaves have made about Trump. Over the top doesn't really describe it, to be frank. The stark differences about how Joe described Biden before and after Biden dropped out of the Presidential race. Joe's descriptions of Joe's supposed vigor became very comical. All of it put their propaganda into sharp focus. By the way, that media is consumed on much more than just cable TV conduits. I'm thinking here of Facebook, You-Tube and such played across digital platforms. The use of such is most likely not accurately measured by the firms that say they keep track of all our media. The internet and its expansion into many aspects of our everyday lives is definitely a technological marvel, and its impact upon our society has not yet finished and will be a long time before complete.
MSNBC hosts are perfect examples of propagandists masquerading as “journalists,” and played a key role in the rise of fascism in America. By serving as cheerleaders for a party no less committed than the GOP to the intersecting evils identified by MLK (racism, capitalism, and militarism), they effectively gaslit their viewers and helped invite Trump back to the White House. https://shahidbuttar.substack.com/p/journalism-has-fueled-the-rise-of
Given that corporate Democrats created Trump in the first place (because they thought he would be easier to beat than Jeb Bush in 2016), no one should be particularly surprised by this latest turn of events. https://shahidbuttar.substack.com/p/hillary-strikes-again
It bears noting that the solution to this rot in the media ecosystem includes independent journalism of the sort widely accessible on this platform. Thanks to everyone here for being part of that solution!
Laughed my ass off over my coffee. Incisive, encapsulating and utterly hysterical because this article rings so true. Keep em coming Klip cause I spent 27 yrs in Washington and loathe those mfers and need the laugh as therapy!
Complaining about Morning Joe is pointless. It isn't news, and I don't think it is worth your time thinking about it.
You are complaining about how the MSM is engaging with Trump, but I don't really see you doing any better. These are quotes from this article:
"they care more about substantive issues like the economy, which is why Trump won."
"why his message resonated in the first place"
Using these statements vaguely without giving any indication of how you interpret "his message" or how the voters think Trump engaged with the "substantive issues" really begs the question. Without that information it is difficult for me to understand what, specifically, you think Democrats should do. It is easy to say "That didn't work" it is far more difficult and useful to say "do this". Unfortunately, that is difficult to do because Trump doesn't do any of things that seem like they would work.
Disagree. Think article underscores the point that those frauds are now changing their tune for the chching corporate money and that a new day is dawning like it or not. His writing is also spot on IMHO
"That even these Marie Antoniette types finally realize the futility of flashlight-under-your-chin scary campfire storytelling about Trump should give you a sense of just how discredited that type of journalism is."
Ezra Klein at the New York Times & Anne Applebaum at The Atlantic haven't gotten the memo yet.
Marie Antoniette journalists!
Perfect.
Let them watch Fox!
That's pretty much the response, isn't it?
lol

Exactly, these guys are symbiotically related!

Just a hedge to make sure you're not on the enemies list when the boss sends Gaetz out to round everybody up. Lol.
😉

How did corporate Democrats “create” Trump?
I wrote about it in the post to which I linked. It’s a matter of public record that is too inconvenient for most Democrats to acknowledge. See https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/11/hillary-clinton-2016-donald-trump-214428/
Pathetic
It must be a holdover from childhood but when I read "flashlight under the chin" there was a sudden adrenaline rush and a smell of campfire wood...

Thanks, Quentin! What brought you to Washington?
The Hill. Rep. Eva Clayton (D-NC). Lived with Messina then. Later was sr. vp for DNC Finance Chair Tonio Burgos who was Hillary BFF and CORRUPT! See three min video in DC about it here: https://quentinkelly.substack.com/p/dc-explain-fix-28-for-washington?r=1o15gx

Agreed. Not much gained from the breathless reporting of their breathless reporting.
