Their omniscience justifies all MONEY intelligence agencies get too. Considering their records of failure, they cause more trouble than they prevent.

They aren't there to prevent trouble - they are there to destroy any whiff of democracy that might pop up and install a US business friendly autocrat.

It is the sole purpose of our foreign policy.

I believe that the imperial core intelligence agencies have just atrophied in their ability to do their job anymore lmao. The Cold war they messed up sometimes but they were usually very determined to get what they wanted. Now they just kinda throw money at things and don't have a lot more to do since the imperial core has basically won. The war machines have rusted enough that there are kinks in the armor

I kind of hope you're right.

The timing...

I would imagine that their conclusions may not be accurate that often, but I would wager they err on the side with the most profits.

Not that it's an evil conspiracy - just like how the consent is manufactured in mass media, I have a high degree of confidence that people in intelligence that come to unprofitable conclusions don't get promoted.

Do you think they really missed it or strategically allowed it to happen so they can justify a massive offensive?

missed it, just like the did in the yom kippur war. intelligence agencies are powerful but fallible.

That thought occurred to me, too.

Intelligence should've recognized that the 50th Anniversary of Yom Kippur would be a likely occasion for an attack.

There was plenty of warning for 9/11, & our defenses for what should've been our most heavily fortified & defended structures were completely lacking.

There were plenty of warnings for the 1/6 violence that I noticed & predicted. How could authorities not know? But of course they did know & let it (encouraged it to) happen.

Can't be so sure about this attack on Israel but it wouldn't surprise me.

Those are interesting comparisons and maybe not untrue

Bush administration had intel about 9/11 but chose to ignore it. There was lots of concern about something about to happen on 1/6, but 45’s administration chose not to act and in fact encouraged it.

I guess the CIA/Mossad/MI6 needed a new distraction, now that the Ukraine scam is collapsing...

Or did MBS decide that “clearing” Gaza will allow for a new pipeline straight to the Mediterranean, to replace NordStream 2 (if another “accident” happens).

Either way, Israel’s surveillance in Gaza is so ubiquitous, it seems absolutely implausible.

Unfortunately, we are unable to list the successful missions intelligence agencies have carried out. They are all top secret. Just because we don’t hear about it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.
