Hey Ken, thanks for doing the tedious work of journalism for us. As a wise one once said 'i ain't reading all that'.

One question... do you recall any definition of 'border emergency' here? I feel like that could be interpreted pretty broadly, and there are plenty of people in both parties that frame the current state of affairs as an emergency already.

I’m new to your work and am not politically inclined. Duel citizen (Canadian and American) raising young kids in PA bucks county (very political and polar).

This was interesting and informative. Thanks for spending the time and energy on it!

Wondering if you have any big concept articles on politics right now? Writing which may be helpful to bring the current situation into context and guide well-oriented perspective on how to interpret the inevitable craziness of election year.

Finally, bonus if you have any reading suggestions for kids to help them gain a healthy skepticism without totally breaking their belief in the power of change through political action.

Ok that was a lot. 😅 Really anything along these lines would be appreciated.

Thanks again!

I'm Canadian American as well! My dad is from Vancouver.

There's really a dearth of insightful big picture reporting about the political climate, I honestly can't even think of any right now. So much is focused on the horse race.

As a former kid myself what helped me the most wasn't any specific writers so much as freedom to explore stuff and make mistakes on my own.

Hope that helps

2 things:

THANKS FOR READING SOURCE DOCS & SHARING THOSE DETAILS. Did I scream? Maybe.

So only during “emergencies” then eh? 🤡 🙄

Glad you found it helpful, Tim! Poring over 700 page documents is annoying but there's often much that's overlooked

I’m one of those weird Americans who like reading the raw material straight from the source.

**Thank YOU** for doing the easy yet time consuming hard & kinda boring work actually READING it.

You FOIA king you. 🤓

Tareq Baconi (in many publications) is excellent for history and analysis on Palestine. His book, Hamas Contained, has both useful detail and big picture clarity

For more context on te US border, Daniel Denvir wrote All American Nativism. His podcast The Dig is incredibly informative on many political topics, also including palestine

The same high tech servielence systems that Israelis created to spy and kill Palestinians will now be used on our border to do the same to our neighbors to the south seeking asylum from our sanctions and political whims we impose from their nation of origin. Hell Trump wants to invade Mexico using the same play book fasict- apartheid state of Isreal is using. Maybe we should remove the statue of liberty *its so old school*

Hell better yet have the navy seals special ops ghost it. The public is dumb enough to buy into "the Russians did it.
