my biggest concern is the extent to which the liberal dem establishment may/would allow any action/prosecution on these fronts to procede...i also have no idea about court/litigation theatrics either.
simply too many people to have to deal with, though. it would have to be nazism on steroids. you can't eliminate the educated sizeable extent of the populace w/o consequences. even in an AI world.
I am sure it will be a more polite reckoning than with Republicans. I know one of the impacts of chaos is to make us all forget, but Assange sat in prison under Biden and Trump both, and they really were trying to kill him. Snowden revealed the mass surveillance of American Citizens during the Obama era - I don’t remember him receiving a medal of freedom for it.
The most underreported story of the COVID era were the Twitter files; it was a D administration who used extra-legal means to shut down dissenting thought - EVEN IF THE OPINIONS WERE FACTUAL- and not only in regards to COVID. It was the Biden administration who eventually sicced federal goons on the journalists in the case, and Democrats who attacked and excoriated Taibbi over his crime of journalism.
Speaking of COVID, remember the Canadian trucker strike? Poor fuckers just fighting to feed their families, painted as hard-right wing goons, and then de-banked - quite literally starving families to punish them for peaceful protest.
And let’s not even talk about attacking, doxxing, expelling college kids for their principled and morally correct protest of the Gaza genocide.
Except for style and bureaucratic competence, policy wise I don’t see a huge difference between the blue and red Nazis in our midst. One is Pepsi, one Coke, and both bubbly cans of poison.
I'm sorry but he f'ing named a dead black man, murdered on video no less, by a racist cop? I have had it. Enough. This needs to stop right now. I am going to go print it and circle back later.
Red Scare 0.4 -- Familiar right-wing government/media playbook (Wilson, Truman, Nixon, Trump). Historically effective broad suppression of the Left. Let's hope it's a bridge too far this time, but don't dismiss the danger.
I'm a member of the National Lawyers Guild and the DSA, so I guess I'm now a designated terrorist? Little Marco Rubio is said to be one of the large intellects of the US Senate, which tells us a great deal about that degraded body. It's Joe McCarthy all over again, right in time for the midterm elections. Oh, and I've been a supporter of Democracy Now and Amy Goodman for 30 years. Our government has lost its moorings -- intellectual, moral.
Another NLG member here-and a delegate from Cuba is speaking in Milwaukee tomorrow-sorry to miss it. The idea that the NLG-founded in the 1930's as the first integrated bar and explicitly pro labor-is somehow under the sway of Cuba is ridiculous. But no more ridiculous than the prosecution of the Prairieland defendants or the people charged with federal crimes in Chicago, DC and Minneapolis. The former mayor of Madison who was beaten up during the anti war movement visited Fidel Castro during his first term as mayor. This is Rubio's gambit to further ingratiate himself with the Donald, purge the "enemies within" and provide justification for taking over Cuba all at the same time
The reason the US has always been against Cuba since the revolution is that it poses the threat of a good example, the same as Venezuela and all other people-centered countries. The US, on the other hand, exists for one reason only: to serve moneyed interests. The people can go to hell for all the government here cares. Anyone who cares about humanity more than corporations is on terrorist Marco's elimination list. In a sense, given that the US exists only to serve corporations, anyone who disagrees, myself included, IS in fact "anti-American".
How odd, unless it is forthcoming, that they left out the most obvious ACTUAL communists and socialists: Communist Party USA, Revolutionary Communists of America, Socialist Workers Party, etc. third parties whose platforms and positions are unapologetically Marxist or Marxist Leninist. Perhaps they don't see these groups as impactful? But the others are?
But aside from that, I think this 1950's red baiting will backfire, and only bring more interest to these groups and attract new adherents. This campaign also reflects the success of all those organizations and people, they/we must be making a difference to have the empire managers running scared.
Are we still wondering if Trump has put together a list of enemies?
Because here you have it: Essentially anything left of Republican is now considered enemies.
But Little Marco is only *second generation citizen*, and he hates Cuba, which his family left, not during Castro's revolution but during Batista's regime.
While the senator frequently characterized his parents as exiles fleeing the Cuban Revolution during his early political career, public records verified their arrival (in 1956) occurred during the Batista regime. His parents eventually became naturalized U.S. citizens in 1975, but held legal resident green cards when he was born in Miami in 1971. So little Marco was born to a pair of green cad holders. You would think that would temper his hatred of immigrants, but no.
It seems that the Senator has trouble explaining that his mom & dad left Cuba *to find a better life in the US*, in 1956 (years before Castro got into power). The guy before Castro was Fulgencio Batista. Who was that guy?:
Batista ruled Cuba as president from 1940 to 1944 and as a dictator from 1952 to 1959. He was overthrown on January 1, 1959, during the Cuban Revolution. He died in Spain in 1973.
So his folks were fleeing a DICTATORSHIP.
But hey, when you are sucking up to your boss, who is himself a dictator, it sounds better to re-invent your family history and say that they fled Fidel Castro.
Very disturbing. Lil Narco does not mention prominent DSA people from the past like Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower. They were also Antifa leaders along with Winston Churchill and General Patton.
I also remember reading that the real RFK commented on the Red scare by saying "There are only 100 Communists in the United States and 50 of them are FBI agents".
I recall that Republicans from the Midwest were encouraging Obama to break the political blockcade of Cuba. They wanted to sell John Deere tractors if I remember correctly. Do y’all recall this?
Will those folks be added to the list? Or was this “to recent” to include?
Corporations aren't people. They have no ideological sympathies. Their financial goes to the politician who cuts their taxes and deregulates their criminal activities. The bottom line and "shareholder value" decide who gets to be CEO.
A report whose assertions are so flimsy, "evidence" so ridiculous and offers the laughable conclusion that Cuba, a nation whose current government was the target of a U.S. supported invasion as well as victim of a punishing economic blockade for over 60 years (and which thanks to the U.S. cannot keep the lights on) is the master orchestrator of such a wide array of left dissent which poses a "danger" to the U.S. is the most salient proof yet that a regime-change operation against Cuba is at an advanced stage of planning and will likely occur before the mid-term election in November.
In other words, I'm brainwashed by Cuba because I want affordable healthcare, housing, childcare, etc. for all US citizens? What a pile of crap.
Let us not forget Cuba's literacy rate.
I’m with you‼️
my biggest concern is the extent to which the liberal dem establishment may/would allow any action/prosecution on these fronts to procede...i also have no idea about court/litigation theatrics either.
it's shocking how little the congress says about this stuff
They want us gone too. After all, it’s our fault that Hillary and Kamala lost, and they want our blood for it.
simply too many people to have to deal with, though. it would have to be nazism on steroids. you can't eliminate the educated sizeable extent of the populace w/o consequences. even in an AI world.
Ok but this administration is full of actual Nazis.
I am sure it will be a more polite reckoning than with Republicans. And the mainstream media say nothing at all.
I'm sorry but he f'ing named a dead black man, murdered on video no less, by a racist cop? I have had it. Enough. This needs to stop right now. I am going to go print it and circle back later.

My thoughts exactly. It's so transparent it's almost humorous, if it wasn't scary. Didn't we already do this?
I'm a member of the National Lawyers Guild and the DSA, so I guess I'm now a designated terrorist? Rubio is way far from stupid
Perhaps. I’m waiting for more evidence.
Agree. Little Marco is a big moron.

The witch hunts are on—while this administration and its collaborators are the true vampires.

This is some dark shit
God forbid i do the terroristic act of wanting worker rights and more democracy.
dissent is not terrorism

Great point.

F*cking little hypocrite!

Damn i didnt make the list 😔 jokes aside, this is absolutely insane.
Oh, I am. I checked the DSA website calendar and enyered my contact information. Oops, oh well.
I'm also a labor union leader.
God forbid I care about workers rights. Workers speaking up on their own behalf is definitely a threat to this Administration
We should ALL sign up with the DSA, if only to muddy the waters.
Omg please stay safe and alert!!

This plan to export tractors to Cuba occured during Obama Presidency 2009-2017.
Doubt it. Deere has been supporting trump.

This is horrifying. Rubio has gone full stop fascist.
