I’m sure I’m not alone, but I lost my twitter account because I RT’d that article. And no, I didn’t take down the tweet. Getting more done without it. 🙂

It's just the blatant hypocrisy that is so disgusting. Musk's posts look like they are literally coming from Trump's campaign manager. In the long run, you vs. them is like Pulitzer vs. Clown Car.

Alright - so if we're migrating from Twitter, where do we go? The platform seems untenable. I like Bluesky and Mastodon but they still don't seem as active as Twitter (even as Twitter gets worse and worse).

This may seem like a dumb question, but why is there a need to go to any social media platform? Is there really a net benefit to you that will be lost? Honest question.

It's a fair question IMO. 1. While I don't really like Facebook, my family and friends are there, so I want to be there to keep up with people and see what's going on. 2. I think sites like Twitter, Mastodon, and Bluesky fill a different want for me: 1. To keep up with what's going. 2. To interact with like-minded or interesting individuals. 3. To do lazy couch activism, it isn't much but it's easy and sometimes as a group people can make things happen on social media (I do try to get stuff done IRL).

Well, Ken, it is known as journalism. We don't see much of that these days. That's why I subscribed to your substack

There's a whole lot of censoring going on. Kudos to you, and the others, who are doing their best to speak truth, not just to power, but, maybe even more importantly, bringing truth to the people. Thanks, Ken, again!

While we still have "freedom of speech", there is no "freedom to publish" -- Twitter "X" is a Musk-owned entity now, as he made it private as per the purchase agreement. Kudos to you for taking a stand, but being banished for heroism is part of the American power elite's modus operandi. Wear it as a badge of courage and continue your excellent journalism. Truth will out.

I really appreciated this passage:

“The Trump campaign and Musk did exactly what they’ve repeatedly condemned Twitter’s previous owners for doing with the Hunter Biden laptop story: suppress, manipulate, ban.”

The news media’s suppression of the Vance dossier reinforces its complicity with the crimes of the national security state. The reason constitutional limits on it are so important is to stop it from falling into the hands of a tyrant. But Democrats have been as committed to the imperial presidency and foreign policy as Republicans.

In any case, I wrote about you & your work at https://shahidbuttar.substack.com/p/tonights-debate-means-more-than-you. Keep it up!

I became a paid subscriber because I support you in fighting against censorship. I hope you continue to cover major censorship and free speech issues. They're increasingly important today, especially as we see push back from social media platforms.

"The Trump campaign coordinated with Elon Musk’s X (née Twitter) to kill circulation of my publication of the J.D. Vance Dossier, The New York Times reported today. "

The irony of the Times chastising Musk for suppressing a document that they themselves refuse to publish is apparently lost on them.

Any doubt I had about Musk’s reason to purchase Twitter was eliminated. Many people thought he acquired a new plaything, but I suspected almost from the beginning that his reasons were far more sinister.

Kudos to you, Ken, and the other independent journalists who refuse to be cowed. This is the reason I became a paid subscriber.
