Q: why don't the Democrats fight against these police state programs?

A: who do you think got the ball rolling? Why would they fight their own program?

I doubt anything the Democrats have done in terms of policing even come close to the damage done by the Patriot Act alone to our liberties. Once you give that kind of power to the government, good luck walking it back, whether it is under a Democrat or a Republican. They used 9/11 to scare people into giving up our slim protections against government overreach and like sheep, we allowed it. Those who disagreed were called America haters and traitors, especially on a news channel named after an animal and favored by politicians on the right for their softball and leading questions.

You mean the Patriot Act that the Democrats have always supported and never tried to retire?

The Patriot Act has wide bipartisan support. Both parties own it.

You're right. Accuracy matters.

https://justfacts.votesmart.org/bill/votes/8289?s=party

These are the people who voted to make the Patriot Act the law of the land.

To my disappointment, despite his campaign promises in 2008, Obama signed its extension. On the right only Justin Amash was a huge opponent. On the left the Squad and Sanders were against it. Ever since they have been passing the extension votes in the middle of the night when no one pays attention.

Once you give the government powers it didn't have, government does not give that power back willingly, ve it a Democrat or Republican majority government. And it's the right that made the Patriot Act the law of the land. Not sure why it is even a point of contention when it's obvious and on the record.

So using their own definition of “nihilistic extremism” Trump and Stephen Miller should be the top two names on the list.

Trump is running the show. His actions are pure incitement. He uses the expected and predictable response of people attacked by anonymous, masked men to claim it the work of a fictitious "radical left"

He has concocted a civil war entirely of his own making, allowing him to continually ramp up oppression against we the helpless people.

I am in on the street daily and dearly wish I saw others out and shouting about what is going on but all I see is day after day of have-a-nice-day behavior except where ICE appears to engage in thuggery. We Americans are a pathetic people who can't be roused to defend our own freedoms which our forebears worked so hard to give us.

Now we have a tyrant to prove how timid we are. He's getting the proof.

Another outstanding piece of reporting, Ken. Maybe the MSM and Congressional leadership will eventually take note.

Several question 'masterful Ken!

1: IS Mr. Kash Patel aware that he is a brown person in service to the WHITE Supremacist State of USA

2. Does anyone in the USA understand that being Healthcare for all: Is socialism.?

3. Go ahead US. Build up your data on citizens. Really does not mean much in this present climate.

Kash Patel NEEDS to learn about racism in the USA.

Under this Trump administration AND Liberal Elites every single one of you is on this data base.

NOT one person in the world is coming to your aid.

Time to start a Revolution with guns and bullets BUT you people are so TEPID until they come for you!

Are you Americans married into different cultures? IF you are you are NOT safe.

By all means dear, feel free to lead by example and put yourself and your kinsfolk in the front lines. We'll celebrate you as heroes of the Revolution who were first to die in a blaze of glory, guns and blood. We the tepid will watch movies about you while eating popcorn, until they come for us, in which case there are a couple of things called the 2nd Amendment and the castle doctrine.

Quite dandy of you to urge us and our loved ones to die in a bloody revolution from the comfort of your home outside of the US for your peace of mind. Hence my reply above.
