Excellent, fiery piece Ken. These pompous incompetent stooges deserve it. Quoting from my favorite of the voluminous Law & Order Franchise episodes: "those people (the FBI) couldn't stop an asthma attack" <Annabella Sciorra's character on her miserable time when assigned to the FBI post 9/11, from Law & Order: Criminal Intent>

pompous is the perfect word for it

Does this mean that in 2031 we will get more FBI-sourced photos of Hunter’s hawg?

If the FBI delayed prosecuting, making it more difficult for the defendant to gather documents and other evidence as well as witness testimony to aid in his defense, the defendant may be able to have the case dismissed.

Wow, this is a thorough rundown. I had to skim it and save to read in detail when I am off work. I noticed you mentioned that Anthrax debacle and I recommend reading some of Glenn Greenwald's work on that when he was at Salon and The Intercept. Long story short: It sounds a lot like this case played out similarly. In that case they first tried to frame some guy, then ended up hanging it on a guy who ended up killing himself due to the harassment he was getting, and I fully believe he (Ivins) was innocent. The timing was just too suspect, as were the victims (and intended victims) - those people who were wavering on passing the awful "PATRIOT ACT" (it's one of the stupidest acronyms for a government project in history, kind of like the "OBBB").

Perhaps Scully and Mulder finally persuaded their bosses that the real problem was the multiple sets of space aliens making crop circles and so forth. In order to prevent public panic the FBI has been forced to assign all its real square-jawed hawkshaws to the intergalactic threat. Meanwhile hiring a large number of, dare we say it?. crisis actors to pretend to be investigators?

Does anyone remember the female government employee the right wingers were trying to pin this on? I forget where I saw it, but one of the main wingnut sites had dozens of articles earlier in the year about supposed gait analysis and that they were positive it was some woman, Democrat operative, and an inside job.

The FBI always gets their guy because they're the ones who train, finance, and prime the guys to commit the attacks

Wow, your LONG list of failures by the FBI, when laid out in chronological order is astonishing and yet not surprising.

Weren't there some internet rumblings that MTG was the person/same gait? Idk how anyone can identify from the outfit, behavior. Do we know how they identified Cole? The report seems to say evaluation of existing evidence. The timing is indeed odd.
