Re the WNBA, though, I think it's understandable that they'd be concerned given the stalking incidents that NPR reported ( https://www.npr.org/2026/08/29/nx-s1-5947897/wnba-national-security ). It's not just online insults. And when online hate includes physical threats, it's not hard to see why it seems like terrorism - because it has the same goal as political terrorists: make them _all_ feel scared for being who they are.
Also - did you know that Project 2025 includes a recommendation to shut down women's sports? Being competitive is "unladylike". I found a 1925 map of the local block, made copies of it and went down the block of single family homes passing out copies so the owners could see how things were 100 years ago.
What I found as I did my distribution was that 80% of the homes had online camera/doorbells, most of them the same brand, is it Nest? I can't recall. A couple of houses had no doorbell, just a knocker. What's WRONG with those two homeowners? Don't they know danger is everywhere? One homeowner answered the door by letting down a window pane so that he could talk to me without the possibility of contact. When I offered the map, he was forced to open the door.
Wasn't there a story recently about the video from these camera/doorbells being collected without the owners knowing about it?
We are swirling down the digital drain. I am persuaded by the authors of books warning of the danger of AI. I think it should be stopped but it is invading everything. I am one of only two people I know who are smartphone-free but at the rate everything is requiring apps, the day is coming when smartphones will be needed for everything. My flip phone can deal with Q code but that's about it.
