That’s right, Ken. Terrorism won’t claim 3,000 American lives this year, or next, or the year after, because the anti-terrorism agencies will have done their job, keeping you, and me and all Americans (except the terrorist Americans) safe with the added tax errrr government funded security measures and the vigilance of our great patriotic leaders!

I think sarcasm is a wonderful thing.

Of course the only real threat are these fascist morons who believe 1 + 1 = 3.

Before 9/11 I recall reading in The Economist magazine amazement that in contrast to Europe, America had virtually no security measures at airports. It was a fact.

9/11 caused a reaction that has only intensified during the period up to now. Like the weapons industry and the "defense" budget one need only look for where money is being made to see what "problems" will be emphasized in Washington. Our democracy of lobbies is working perfectly as such with we the people forgotten.

Even the budget itself has been forgotten as lobbies squeeze it into tremendous debt, rising steadily since 9/11. Believe it or not there was an annual budget SURPLUS in 2001, the last year we have had a surplus. In 2001 the national debt was $6 trillion. The annual deficit in every year since has us at $40 trillion now with no end in sight.

Though Uncle Sam is living way beyond his means, those drawing a profit out of it have never done better. Look how easily the current "defense" budget went through loaded with goodies for ethnic cleansing Israel.

Osama bin Laden won. America is swirling down the internal security hole that curiously we the people do not experience but that our politicians tell us is a problem of great magnitude. The reason is simple. Big money can be made peddling fear. At one time police wore a white shirt a cap and a gun. You wouldn't hesitate to speak to a cop. Now they are loaded with gear, wear all black with POLICE on their backs and inform you they are taking your picture and recording your voice. The impression is one of power over you, a strange thing for a public servant to project.

“Public servant” has become an oxymoron.

If these people weren't so scary, due to where they work, these comments from Gorka and the like would be laughed at as lunacy. We are truly living in a Lewis Carroll nightmare. Please November bring relief from this madness.

Well, damn. I grew up during the post WWII/cold war/ McCarthy/Korean conflict/Vietnam war/not necessarily in that order eras and there was very little time when it wasn't doom and gloom hanging over us. Then came the Cuban Crisis. And who knows what else. But nothing . . . NOTHING surpassed what has happened to this country in the past 19-20 months. Sweet Baby Jesus in a manger, what next??? What anti-terrorist agencies are going to do WUT job??

Is there an increased terrorism threat? Is it greater than it was 25 years ago on 9/11? This will be the 25th anniversary of that horrible day TOMORROW. Well, a, duh, YEAH! What were we doing in the Middle East 25 years ago? We were blockading and sanctioning Saddam Hussein in Iraq. We were sending arms to Israel. We are STILL sending arms to Israel. What happened since then over there? We had the Afghanistan War from 2001 to 2021 for 20 years. Afghanistan is still a basket case. We had the Iraq War from 2003 to 2011 for about eight years. Iraq is still a basket case. Our WONDERFUL ally Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, and is STILL doing it. We bombed Iran in 2025. Trump said they were obliterated. Apparently, NOT. We bombed them AGAIN this year, and we have run out of bombs. Trump AGAIN said they were obliterated. Iran closed the straight of Hormuz. So, AGAIN, apparently, NOT obliterated. We now have a "military action", and NOT an actual "war" going on since last February. I filled up my car with gas today here in Florida that cost $4.20 a gallon. After ALL OF THIS, is the threat of terrorism greater now than it was 25 years ago? Well, a, duh, YEAH!

"The chaos machine exposes public displeasure with Donald Trump, the innate contempt for government tyranny symbolized as everyone from the NYPD to ICE to the FBI and CIA, dissatisfaction with the elite, the opinion shapers, the priorities of the country, the inequities of society, and in general, for the dated old ways.

The national security types call that terrorism."

In other words, while it's quite likely the tin foil hat bunch has been spending too much time outdoors under the bright sun, they could well be right in their assessments. For all the wrong reasons.

This obsession with looming terror has convinced me once and for all that 9/11 was an inside job. More than three thousand souls were sacrificed to give the US government the green light to limit civil liberties (almost reaching elimination) and to implement The Security State on Steroids.

I’m damn glad I’m old.

And btw, it wouldn’t surprise me if a trumped up, as it were, terror event doesn’t take place soon. The tin foil hat crowd, which comprises most of government these days, needs a raison d’être.
