Believe it or not there was an annual budget SURPLUS in 2001, the last year we have had a surplus. In 2001 the national debt was $6 trillion. The annual deficit in every year since has us at $40 trillion now with no end in sight.
Though Uncle Sam is living way beyond his means, those drawing a profit out of it have never done better. Look how easily the current "defense" budget went through loaded with goodies for ethnic cleansing Israel.

Only much later in various interviews did he kinda sorta take credit, mostly by using the word "we" - which IIRC when translated from Arabic to English made it sound like he was referring to himself as something other than a part of the greater Islamic resistance movement when he wasn't. Another time he supposedly used "I" when discussing the command structure of the alleged hijackers, but it's murky. I think he had cut off operational ties with the alleged hijackers years prior, and communicated by proxy to some of their alleged handlers in the US as well as at some poing directed funding to shadowy individuals. The most interesting part of it to me is that all the groups of titty-bar rousing, heavy drinking, smoking, drug using "devout" Muslims were being followed and watched by teams of Israelis who in I believe every single case, took up residence within a mile or so of each alleged Al Qaeda unit. But I'm sure that's just a big coincidence, and like all the partying and sex our hijackers were having - completely unimportant to understanding what really happened.
This obsession with looming terror has convinced me once and for all that 9/11 was an inside job. More than three thousand souls were sacrificed to give the US government the green light to limit civil liberties (almost reaching elimination) and to implement The Security State on Steroids.
