Lol bro they make it sound like it's some kind of comic book gangster's hideout. It's just a park. There are a lot of street vendors and houseless folks, and ya some immigrants do go down there to try and get IDs so they can get a job and live their life. The fact that that seems to inspire the need for militaristic violence in the upper echelons of the Trump regime shows how deep the white supremacy is rooted. They are desperate to disrupt any ability for immigrants to live here. It is beyond reason. That is why so many of us in LA are not waiting for discourse to solve this and trying to actively resist. This was after all a show, not against MS-13, but the whole city and its immigrant population. They want us to be scared and submissive. We won't be.

BTW, I would appreciate it if the community could like, subscribe, and share. Sorry to plug, but it's hard for writers to make a living and leftist writers are really getting pushed out of the big publications. Any help is appreciated.

didn't Donna Summer have a song about MacArthur park?

Originally recorded by Richard Harris in 1967 — I heard his version many times in my youth — and later covered by Donna Summer, among others.

It was in the new Beetlejuice. Along with the “Excalibur” operation name, there’s obviously a huge Richard Harris fan planning these at Homeland.

I wouldn’t be suprised if the whole operation was an inside joke gone wrong, like Q-Anon.

This is an outright military occupation. But they clearly don't trust their own troops to broadly attack civilians, yet, hence the addition of an abort criteria if a 1,000 person protest is identified within 3 miles. They are still getting the National Guard and the Army used to the idea that their role is to occupy American cities.

What in the actual fuck did I just read?!?! It's giving Hogan's heroes meets Gilligan's Island, in terms of camp and stupidity.

I can't imagine joining the national guard and getting dispatched just sitting in a truck for an hour, as "a show of force."

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, lol. It sounds like a plot for a dark comedy. Thanks, Ken.

LA is the new West Bank and after ethnic cleansing the West Bank will be the new LA. We're living in Steven Miller's world, bald heads optional BTW, where did these uniformed thugs get their training?

He was at a press conference about wildfires and mentioned MacArthur park and something about a disgrace and began talking about trump and I was pretty lost until I seen your article here and it filled me in.

My goodness, that's my old childhood stomping grounds you're writing about. Not far from the Ramparts police station. I remember back in the 1960s, being with a friend, RIP, who found some handy pieces of lumber, and other items, to relieve the construction site of, back when it was being built. My friend went on to be a 'famous' leftish writer. Ah, LA in the good old days!

Sounds like bad news now for everyone involved. Not that it was a posh area when I lived there, but things seem to have deteriorated.

Operation Excalibur - wondering just who was the Lady of the Lake in this scenario?

Also, LASD must either be old or unfavored to be called R/C
