There was a time (18th June 1981) when my husband was 'head hunted' to work for a Swiss Company in the US. Me and our 2 kids went to New Jersey where the headquarters of this Company was. (I was not given a work Visa).
From London to NJ was a NIGHTMARE so my husband managed to change jobs and we 'upped and left' for California (another European business).
We went on holiday to Italy from California. On our return we were told that we were 'illegal aliens' because we had not registered the fact that my husband had changed jobs.
Neither Company advised us this was necessary.
After being seriously abused by US Customs. (LA) where they brought me in first ostensibly to 'break the little woman'......easy for me because I didn't know what the hell we had done.
We went back to our house as 'illegal aliens!'
Spent weeks rushing around downtown Los Angeles to multiple agency's ostensibly to renew our Visas. Found out later this had been done by the new Company.
What I want to point out here: "The head of the snake does not know what the tail is doing".
Eventually we decided to leave the US MOSTLY because I understood that it was NOT a safe place to live.
We are WHITE people.................and if we had been brown/yellow/pink we would have been thrown out with our house and money seized!
This 'non-stop' NONSENSE in Europe and the USA with regard to immigrants is purely bad beaureucratic NONSENSE.
More people needed to manage 'aliens.'
Thank heavens we were not there when ICE was working!
Now Trump wants to bring 'alien' Corporations to work in the US...............do NOT do this.
These poor alienated citizens from other countries, abused by US Wars SHOULD be told by their own Governments.............do not go to the USA or Europe.
Good timing on this piece as the DHS funding bill is currently on the Hill and the CR runs out on 1/30.
"Next week, the House will take up its final spending package, potentially its hardest: Labor-HHS, Defense, Transportation-HUD and Homeland Security.
The Senate will vote this week on the $180 billion Commerce-Justice-Science, Interior and Energy and Water package. This passed the House by a huge margin, 397-28. The lopsided results showed how much members want to avoid another shutdown.
Remember: All these bills have to be passed by Jan. 30, the shutdown deadline under the current CR.
Homeland blues. Funding for the Homeland Security Department — already politically fraught following President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown — is even more difficult after last week’s fatal shooting of a woman in Minnesota by an ICE agent.
Some Democrats have warned that they’ll vote against any bill without new ICE restrictions and oversight mandates. Faced with that reality, several House and Senate leaders have suggested they may have to fund DHS via a yearlong CR, a suboptimal result for appropriators. The Homeland Security Department, though, received tens of billions in new funds already under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, so the White House could live with a CR.
But in recent days, leaders in both parties and appropriators have sounded optimistic about passing the DHS spending bill.
Rep. Henry Cuellar (Texas), the top Democrat on the DHS subcommittee, told us that negotiators are close to agreement on the Homeland Security package and they hope to release text this weekend, along with the other three funding bills. House GOP leaders may split the DHS vote from the other bills to ease passage.
“I feel cautiously optimistic,” said the ever-optimistic House Appropriations Committee Chair Tom Cole (R-Okla.). “If you don’t believe you can get there, you certainly won’t, so I’m not expecting a CR.”"
Absolutely outstanding work! Please take good care of yourself in these dangerous times, and shark-infested, icy waters.
Sharks have more brains than the USA.
its funny how much they hate Iran while they built ICE just like the IRGC.
clock it
clock it
Bravo! You pulling the curtain back to examine the whole (behind the sum of the parts) should make a crucial contribution to the discourse.
If only we had a functioning republic that could then do something to impose meaningful constraints on the executive branch informed by your findings! https://shahidbuttar.substack.com/p/a-constitution-in-crisis
A Washington Post reporter's home was just raided by the FBI for reporting leaked material from the Pentagon. Be safe my guy 🤙
😩
i'm glad there's some people inside reacting to the erosion of due process
I object to the cliched names. Operation Zulu Shield? Operation Fleur-de-lis?
Deport whoever came up with these shitty names.
lmao

Democrats are NO different from the Republicans.........YOUR country does not work.
Well done! Appreciate your work. Let's hope more derogatory information gets exposed and the curtain falls on ICE and the whole swampy administration.
To those thinking of resigning, don't do it. Instead, stay on the job and feed information to Ken.
Best nat sec journo in the biz, and this is why. Fabulous work and thank you as always!!
